Washington, D.C. — Today Adriana Jones, sister to Maria “Rhonita” LeBaron and aunt to Rhonita’s young children Howard Miller Jr., Krystal Miller, and Titus and Tiana Miller — all U.S. citizens and victims of the brutal massacre carried out by the Juárez Cartel and its armed wing La Línea in LaMora, Mexico, in 2019 — released the following statement after the U.S Intelligence Community issued its annual threat assessment naming Mexican cartels as the biggest threat to U.S. national security:

“This report confirms what my family and countless other Americans already know—Mexican drug cartels are soulless, evil terrorist organizations with no regard for human life. This is why Americans should be so grateful that President Trump has taken decisive action to classify Mexican drug cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

“With the U.S. Intelligence Community naming cartels as the top threat to our country’s national security, I hope President Trump will designate the Juárez Cartel, and its armed wing La Línea, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations to cut off their financial lifelines and finally bring them to justice for their heinous crimes against American families—including mine. These two cartels, along with others have smuggled deadly drugs into our country for decades, ruthlessly murdering innocent Americans along the border as well as hurting countless families across the country with their harmful, illegal drugs. Now is the time.”
